The 77-year-old Bachchan has been involved in 200 films since he became a star five decades ago.
he and Abhishek, 44, were taken to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, and her son described both as mild symptoms.
“Amitabh is stable with mild symptoms and is currently in the hospital’s isolated unit,” ANI quoted the hospital’s public relations officer as saying.

He had requested to test anyone close to him in the last 10 days. Actor Jaya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aradhya – the rest of the Bachchan family members have returned to the negative coronavirus antigen test report, local media reported.
Mumbai municipal officials have since put up banners outside the Mumbai actor’s home and classified it as a “containment zone”.
The news has spread support for the pair on social media. Among those who paid homage were actress Sonam K Ahuja and former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan.
“Dear Amitabh, wishing you a quick recuperation! Above all, you are the millions of idols in this country, a sculpted superstar! We will all take care of you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!” Said Indian Health Minister Harsh Vardhan.
Bachchan has enjoyed starring roles in hit movies like Zanjeer and Sholay. Since gaining fame in the 1970s, he has won numerous accolades, including four National Film Awards and 15 Filmfare Awards. France has also awarded her highest civilian award, the Legion of Honor, for her contributions to cinema.
Outside of acting, Bachchan Snr made brief speeches on politics and was elected a Member of Parliament for India in 1984 at the behest of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. But he resigned three years later after a scandal erupted over corruption under Mr. Gandhi’s government.

He was also a businessman, founded the Amitabh Bachchan Corporation in 1995 to direct events and produce films. After the venture failed, he went on to host the TV game show Kaun Banega Crorepati – the UK game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? – and has acted in more movies since then. His latest film was the comedy Gulabo Sitabo, a comedy released on Amazon.
As of late, he has been noticeable in helping the administration convey the desired information in the battle against coronavirus.
