Dhakeshwari National Temple is a Hindu temple in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Owned by the state, it is recognized as the ‘National Temple’ of Bangladesh. “Dakeshwari” means the so-called “Goddess of God”.
Since the destruction of Ramna Kali Temple by the Pakistan Army during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, the Kesakeshwari Temple has become one of the most important Hindu shrines in Bangladesh.
It is likewise the biggest Hindu sanctuary in Bangladesh. This temple is part of the famous Shakti Pithas of the Indian subcontinent.
